Privacy Policy

AloDeals (www.alodeals.com and the AloDeals app) helps shoppers in the United Arab Emirates find and compare supermarket and hypermarket offers. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.

In short: you can use AloDeals without an account. We do not sell your information, we do not show advertising and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

Information we collect

When you use AloDeals without an account

• Saved on your device only: your shopping list, saved items, followed stores, recent searches, language, text size, chosen area or branch, and your loyalty cards, warranties and receipt photos. This stays in your browser or app storage and is not sent to us.
• Your location, only if you allow it: your exact position stays on your device. To show offers at nearby branches first, the app sends us a point rounded to about 1 km. We do not save it to any profile.
• Technical information: like any website, our servers receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting and is overwritten automatically on a rolling basis.

When you create an account

• Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that we cannot read.
• Your shopping data, kept in sync across your devices: shopping list, saved and watched items, items you mark as bought, items you hide, followed stores, recent searches, interests, your budget and savings total, preferred branch, emirate and language.
• Price alerts and notifications: the products you ask us to watch, the alerts we create for you and, if you turn on notifications, your browser's push notification address.
• Sign-in sessions: the time you signed in and your browser type, so you can see and sign out of your devices from your Account page.
• Account history: a record of account events such as sign-ins, password changes and account closure, kept for security.

Your loyalty cards, warranties and receipt photos are never uploaded, even with an account.

When you sign in with Google, Facebook or TikTok

We receive only what you agree to share on that service's screen:

• Google: your name, email address and Google account ID.
• Facebook: your name, your email address (if you share it) and your Facebook user ID.
• TikTok: your display name and TikTok user ID. TikTok does not share email addresses.

We use this only to create your AloDeals account and sign you in. We never post to your accounts or read your contacts, friends or posts. You can remove AloDeals' access at any time in your Google, Facebook or TikTok settings.

When you contact us through "For business"

We keep the store name, contact details, link and notes you send, together with a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address and your browser type to prevent spam.

How we use information

• To show offers, flyers and prices, and to put offers at stores near you first.
• To run your account, keep your list in sync and sign you in securely.
• To send price alerts and notifications you asked for, and essential account emails such as password resets.
• To keep AloDeals secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To reply when you contact us.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Cookies and device storage

We use only cookies that AloDeals needs to work:

• offers_shopper: keeps you signed in.
• offers_oauth: used for up to 10 minutes while you sign in with Google, Facebook or TikTok.

Your preferences and on-device data (described above) are kept in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run AloDeals, and only as needed for that service:

• Hetzner (Finland and Germany): hosts our servers and database.
• Cloudflare: delivers our website securely and quickly, and protects it from attacks.
• Bunny.net: delivers product and flyer pictures.
• Google Fonts: provides the fonts for Hindi, Malayalam and Urdu when you choose one of these languages.
• Google, Facebook and TikTok: only if you choose to sign in with them.
• Your browser's push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla): only if you turn on notifications.
• Amazon Web Services: sends account and price alert emails.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of AloDeals, our users or others.

Where your information is kept

Our servers are in the European Union (Finland and Germany). Some of our service providers may process information in other countries. They do so under their own privacy and security commitments.

How long we keep information

• Account information and shopping data: until you delete your account.
• Server logs: a short period, overwritten automatically on a rolling basis.
• "For business" messages: as long as needed to handle your request.
• Account history: kept for security. After an account is deleted, only a record that the account was closed remains, without your name or email address.

Copies in backups may remain for a limited time until they are overwritten.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time: sign in, open Account, and choose Delete account. This immediately deletes your account, your sign-in links with Google, Facebook or TikTok, your sessions, synced shopping data, price alerts, notifications and push notification settings.

Deleting your AloDeals account does not delete your Google, Facebook or TikTok account. Removing AloDeals' access in your Google, Facebook or TikTok settings stops them sharing information with us, but does not by itself delete your AloDeals account.

Data saved only on your device can be removed by clearing your browser's site data or uninstalling the app.

If you cannot sign in, email alodealshub@gmail.com from the email address on your account (or tell us how you signed in, for example with TikTok) and we will delete it for you.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of your information;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your information;
• stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Email alodealshub@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. You can also change your name, emirate, language, password and email alert settings on your Account page at any time.

Security

AloDeals is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as hashes, sign-in cookies cannot be read by page scripts, and access to our systems is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

AloDeals is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

AloDeals links to retailers' websites and flyers. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will show a notice on AloDeals.
